Gaia Novarino, born in Italy, has been working at renowned Instituts like the Max Delbruck Center for Molecular Medicine in Berlin, the Center for molecular neurobiology in Hamburg and the UCSD in San Diego/USA. Currently, she is leading a research group at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria in Klosterneuburg. In 2016 she received the Starting Grant from the European Research Council and in 2014 she was honored with the FENS Awards sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim. Gaia Novarino’s research aims to study genes underlying inherited forms of neurodevelopmental disorders such as epilepsy, intellectual disability, and autism.
